Set within a frame inspired by the Gothic Architecture of Medieval Venice, a tribute to John William Waterhouse, Morris & Co & Nature.
A hand-carved and sculpted frame echoes the romantic arches of the city. Cast in recycled sterling, antiqued with the deep patinas of age, Circe Invidiosa ~ by John William Waterhouse Found image set under hand-cut iridescent water glass.
Morris & Co's Orange Tree Tapestry (detail) on the back, set with shards of mica found here at Frog Hollow & Ringville. Adorned with a labradorite bead, circe's magic amulet measures @ 3/4 of an inch at widest, just over @ 2 inches long. Pendant hangs on a 21 1/2 inch oxidized sterling silver chain.
