Shelburne Falls has been one of my favorite places to visit since we moved to Western Massachusetts. It just has a magic about it, and not just the famous Bridge of Flowers!
On beautiful Bridge Street is the Shelburne Arts Cooperative, a Gallery of Fine Art and Fine Craft owned and operated by regional artists since 1998.
One of the founders is a very talented metalworker Marian Ives (we were members at another artisans co-op together in Cambridge, MA a few decades ago!)
When I ran into her recently, she encouraged me to apply to SAC. Well, I am happy to announce that I am now a working member (until April when the "probation period" is over and we decide if it is a good fit all around, or if I'm voted off the island ;) )
Wish me luck!
In these dark times, I have been seeking more human interaction and moving away from the online. Really enjoy being a part of a community of artists- our Hilltown Arts Alliance events are something I look forward to every year.
But this will get me out of the (lonely) workshop and into the gallery greeting people and helping them purchase great local art a few times a month. Also happy to have a place for folks who want to see my work in person - any day but Tuesday, 11-5.
Hope you can stop in...if I happen to be behind the counter I will have a goofy (but grateful) smile for you.
